Delete your account
Draft. Needs owner approval before launch.
You can request deletion of your Chartapir account at any time, from inside the app. When you confirm, the request is recorded immediately and a 72-hour grace period begins, during which you can change your mind from the same screen. After the grace period, deletion cannot be undone.
As soon as the request is recorded, you cannot start a new project, upload a source file, or generate a new video. Cancelling during the grace period restores those features.
Download anything you want to keep before the grace period ends. Your videos stay available for those 72 hours, and that is the window to save them. Once it closes, downloads stop working even though removal itself takes longer to finish.
We then remove your account, your projects, your uploaded files, the working data derived from them, and the videos made from them, from our systems and from the cloud services that processed them for you. We complete deletion within 30 days of your request.
Two things survive deletion, and we want you to know exactly what they are. First, purchase and credit records are kept as tax and accounting law requires. Your name and email address are removed from them, so nothing in those records names you — but they stay linked to the anonymous account identifier they were created under, because an accounting record has to remain a record. Second, the providers that process content for us hold short-lived copies while they work; those expire on the providers’ own schedules, listed in our privacy policy. A video you downloaded or shared before deleting your account is not recalled from wherever you put it.
From the app
- Open Chartapir on your iPhone.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account, and confirm.
We do not yet send a confirmation when removal finishes. To check on a request, email [email protected] and we will confirm it for you.
If you cannot reach the app
If you have lost access to the device or the app will not open, email [email protected] from the address on the account and we will handle it for you.
We ask you to start deletion in the app because that is the only place we can be certain the request is yours. A form on this page that accepted any email address would let a stranger learn whether you have an account, which is worse for you than the extra step.
What about the waitlist?
The waitlist is separate from an account and holds only an email address. To be removed from it, email [email protected] and it is deleted outright.
